I didn't realize that my 1 year blog birthday was going to fall on a Sunday. I very rarely touch a computer on Sunday. So, my birthday present to all of you is late! I'm sorry but I'll make it extra special. I entered the blog world with trepidation. I doubted that anyone would get anything out of it...I didn't realize that it was me that would get the most of it. I've met so many people in the blog world that I call my friends. My family still looks at me strangely when I say things like "I have a friend in AZ that has a lemon tree in her backyard." or "I just talked to Valerie today and she said..." I'm sure they think that Valerie and I are burning up the telephone wires! I've learned so many things from all of you! I've learned many great recipes, how to sew, cutting & piecing quilts, and I am relearning how to embroider! Thank you all for making my 1st year so memorable. You have prayed with me through some of the toughest trials of my life. I started to stop blogging and a friend of friend who never even leaves me comments emailed me. She said that she looks forward to reading my posts, and that I am an inspiration to her. Really?? Me?? I guess I didn't realize by sharing my thoughts, trials, inspirations, my life in a world that seems invisible that I could inspire someone else.
So to celebrate this 1st birthday or blogoversary as some call it, I will be giving away some things that say a lot about me. I've learned to sew this year mostly baby things because my sister had a beautiful baby boy, so I'll be giving away 1 of my baby sets which includes a blanket, bib & cloth diaper. You choose boy or girl & I will make it special just for you! For those of you who don't have a baby in the family I can make something special for your kitchen, like an apron & potholders! I will be giving away a cookbook, because I love to cook and you all were with me as I launched Krista's Kitchen. A devotional book, because I love to be motivated by the bible. and last but not least, fabric... I have accumulated lots of fabric, and I would love to see someone make something with it. I'll be giving away a couple of yards of corduroy, pink & purple 5" squares, and lots of scraps. At this point it is just sitting in the corner of my sewing room/dining room. All of this to just one person!
To enter the giveaway just leave a comment telling me how you've turned lemons into lemonade or in other words how you've turned a trial into a blessing! Oh, and make sure that you leave me your email address or your blog address so that I know how to contact you in case you win! I'll be choosing the winner on Saturday, February 28 so you must enter before Midnight on Friday, February 27.
I'll have pictures to follow this evening. I am unable to post pictures from work.

Congrats on your anniversary. I've enjoyed getting to know you this year! Don't enter me in the giveaway though, becasue I have no babies to give things to at the moment and I'm no good with fabric! Someone else could use it better!
I am so excited. Yes, I would love to be in your give away. And of course, you know my pick would be for a boy! Lets see, trials...which one?? I will pick one that is not a serious one. This happened to me last night. My day was going great. I had decided to cook something for someone that had been in the hospital. They knew supper was coming. 45 min. before we were suppose to leave...I burnt the whole thing! Instead of turning the eye on low, I turned it on high! I decided this is a test. I decided that I would whip up something else and just so happened I had everything! I am reading in Psalms and it is really making me stop and realize that everything is about our relationship with HIM. So I decided that Satan would not win! I got an email this morning that is perfect for this scenario...This line speaks volumes to me. I want to be so Godly that Satan says and feels this way:
Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning satan says "Oh Crap, She's up!"
I thought that was perfect. Now enough about me. I want to tell you what a blessing you have always been to me. But now, on a different level...I look forward to your blog posts. They bless more than you will ever know. Please don't ever quit blogging. You may never know who you may touch. I know you have touched my life. You are a true example to me even though you are the younger women!!! Thank you and have a Blessed Day! P.S. I so hope I win!!!
oh yes, I forgot to say, Congrats on your 1 year blogging birthday! Maybe this will inspire me to do a give away.
Thanks for the giveaway. Found you by moneysavingmom.com
Lemons into lemonade...
This sunday I got the kids ready (2 kids under 3!!) for church, got them out to the van, buckled in ready to go and noticed a flat tire on the van. :( (Lemons) I started my pity party and then decided this was just what satan wanted, me not to go to church!
So, I took the kids out of the van (15 degree weather!) let them play while I unbuckled both car seats, put them in my car, put the kids back into my car, and left again!
I started talking outloud to satan, "A flat tire won't keep me from going to church! I will go to church and I will be happy and you won't bring my spirits down." My three year old started repeating me. (My lemonade!)

Congratulations on one year, that really is a big deal. As far as trials go we just recently had a big scare with our financial situation. It really has brought us closer together as a family and made me realize what is most important in life!
Just found your blog - very neat. I've had my blog for a few years but only since November have really started posting again - it really inspires me to keep sewing, crafting and baking.
As for a trail - I was suppose to start back to work after maternity leave and got laid off (retail isn't so good right now) - but I got a good package and now am looking forward to spending more time with my kids. If I don't have a job come October it might be another story but I will never get this time back with my kids. I'm kinda hoping I don't find a job too soon :)
Hello, thanks for sharing about your giveaway! My biggest trial so far was getting laid off from my job a couple of years ago. It was scary at the time but now I'm doing what I love and it might never have happened had it not been for that lay off. It's affirmed for me that God always has our best interests at heart and we need to just be open to the possibilities He provides.
congrats
Congrats on your one year anniversary. I can't believe you have only been blogging a year, it seems like I have been reading your blog for longer! I don't need to enter the contest as I have too much baby stuff as it is, but I did want to say congrats and I am glad you have kept at it!

Congrats on your blogoversary! My biggest trial has been this year, when I was supposed to start college, and we were in the hospital with my baby waiting for him to have surgery. Having to drop my art classes made me re-evaluate my major and possibly find something better suited to me! I would love a baby set for the little guy!!
Take care!

Yeah! One year. Wow where did it go? Well of course I'm entering. I want a new apron....what have I turned from a trial to a blessing......the ice storm we just had...it was a disaster...you know that...i was on the verge of depression...but somehow I prayed and God turned it around reminding me this shall to pass...sometimes we forget that...when things dont go our way its for a reason..always is. God works through us too...I truly believe that.
I am new to cloth diapering and love it so far. It would be great to win one as I dont have many. I am currently 25 weeks pregnant with #9. What a blessing they all are!
In my life I've seem to only have big trials, but thats ok. God never gives us more then we can handle and I am who I am because of Him and what He has let life teach me.
Shortly afer Dh and I were married we were asked to help a mother with a very young baby. There were long days when she never came to pick up her child. Weeks turned into months and we have had many hard times dealing with the mother and on and off again boyfriend. How did it turn into lemonade? When this beautiful, little girl turned 5 we adotped her as our own. God always has a plan.
Would love to win. I've learned that God may throw us for a loop sometimes, but He always catches us in His arms of mercy. A recent trial in our home has been sicknesses...that never seem to end. But to make it through we've enjoyed campouts in the vaporizer tent, cuddle time on the couch, and lots of soup. We're getting better, and the memories will last!
Thanks for the giveaway!

Congrats on your 1 year birthday--- and awesome giveaway! I've definitely turned lemons into lemonade...my son has autism. That's the lemons part. He's now 7 and has made so much progress that he's truly on the road to recovery. This is all to the glory of God--He gets all of the credit for working a miracle in my child. And that would be the lemonade part! :)
Congrats on your one year anniversary!
We, like everyone else have been feeling the pinch financially (lemons :) ), but the good thing is that this has motivated us to find fun things to do that are cheap or free in our community (lemonade)! We go to every festival and have picnics at parks and are starting to recognize other people in our community that are doing the same which has been great too!
I'd love to be entered in your giveaway! I don't have any babies to in the family but I would love an apron and potholders (and I can never have too many cookbooks :) ). Thanks for the chance to win!

wow! congrats on the milestone and what a super duper giveaway!
your post really got me thinking and i think it's time for me to start making more lemonade cause it's really hard to think of a good story. here is something small...hope it counts:) i was clipping coupons in my overflowing coupon binder last night and got up to help my husband in the kitchen, when my dd decided to "help" me with the coupons. needless to say, upon returning to the living room, they were scattered every which way. first i turned around, closed my eyes and counted to 10 and then turned back to the scene of the crime, smiled sweetly and said "well, i needed to re-organize those coupons anyway":) apparently this was just too hilariuos for my husband and in the end we all had a good laugh:) well i'm off to start organizing:) thanks for the chance and congrats again!

Happy Blog Birthday! You do have a lovely blog!
I am going to write about this next week, but just this week we had a TERRIBLE playdate. And I mean absolutely heinous! But I decided that instead of being mad (which I have a right to be) I needed to get something positive out of it. And I did find out that I now know how my son will react when he is asked about a situation where he had a terrible time. It really will come in handy to know this when he goes to school.
So that is a recent event. :)
