Wow, Christmas is a week from today. We finally got our Christmas tree up on Tuesday night. Although my Christmas gifts that I was going to make our still sitting next to the sewing machine. Aaaarrrggghh, time needs to slow down. I only have this Saturday left. I am going to be working like a crazy person!
My kids volunteered me to make a Buche de Noel for their French II class tomorrow. Of course a recipe that I've never tried...I'll let you know how it turns out. Right now I have Salmon Turnovers in the oven, and they smell delicious. I found the recipe over at The Happy Housewife, go on over and check out her blog.
I just got off the phone with my sister who is organizing our Christmas menu this year. We are both going to be at Mother's for dinner. Usually we go to our respective in-laws, but due to the economy and her having a new baby, we are both staying in town! It will be different but still wonderful. I have been told to bring the ham & green beans for Christmas dinner, and Rotel Dip for Christmas Eve snacks. That is great by me because they are all easy things to do.
What are you doing for Christmas? Are your plans different this year due to the economy?

We have 1 more little party, my immediate family, with children and grandchildren. It all depends on Mandy (baby) though. Our party will be simple. If I don't talk to you before Christmas, I want to wish you all a very blessed, merry Christmas.
I have to work on Christmas this year, but will be going to my Mother-in-laws after I get done at 3. We have my family party on Saturday. Lots of busyness - lots of fun! It will be nice to be with your sister and the new baby on Christmas!
We will celebrate Christmas this Saturday night because of my sister's in-laws, usually have party food as my mom calls it like chips, dip, appetizers, and things like that but Chrissy wants to make beef stew so we will have to see. We are only getting presents for the kids this year or that was the plan, I don't know what my sisters will do, because of the economy.
Our plans are the same..we do Christmas Eve breakfast at our home...then Christmas Eve appetizers at my mom's. Christmas Morning is at Scott's moms and Christmas lunch/dinner is with my mom's family..there are about 100 of us....she is one of 9 kids....so you can imagine.
It's all good though. I wouldnt change it.
I hope you all have very Merry Christmas.
Our visiting plans are not different due to the economy. Everyone wants the baby for his 1st Christmas so we will be visiting both families.
Merry Christmas!
